Why does the carpet ripple again a month after stretching?

Usually because it was pulled, not re-stretched. A knee kicker alone rarely holds. Cut pile nylon and polyester wall-to-wall needs a power stretcher braced wall to wall. The tack strip gets checked first. In older West Hollywood converted units, that strip is often nailed into slab, and the pins are rounded off. New strip goes down before anything gets stretched.
