What is the difference between hot-water extraction, shampooing and dry cleaning?
Hot-water extraction, which people call steam cleaning, injects heated solution and vacuums it straight back out. Shampooing uses a rotary brush and foam and shows up mainly on older commercial loop carpet in hallways and lobbies. Which stains come out and which ones are permanent?
Food, drink, coffee, mud, pet accidents, cooking grease and general traffic soil usually come out fully. Older synthetic carpet with a Stainmaster treatment helps on spills that sat overnight. What we cannot promise: bleach and benzoyl peroxide marks, hair dye, some inks, mustard and turmeric, rust, and anything already scrubbed hard enough to fray the fiber. Those are dye loss or physical damage rather than dirt, and we will tell you that at the estimate instead of after.

Is any of this a problem for pets or small children?
No. Our solutions are pH-balanced and rinse out under extraction, and the hot water itself does a lot of the work. Keep pets and kids in another room while we run hoses and cords, mostly so nobody trips. Once the carpet is dry to the touch, the room is back in normal use. If someone in the home has asthma or a fragrance sensitivity, say so when you book and we will use a fragrance-free option.

Can you handle couches, rugs and tile floors on the same visit?
Yes, and bundling saves you a second appointment. Upholstery gets cleaned with hand tools and fabric-appropriate solution, including microfiber, cotton blends and leather. Area rugs can be cleaned in place or picked up for wash and dry off-site, which is what we recommend for wool and silk. Tile and grout gets pressure cleaning and extraction, useful in the older Spanish Revival buildings where original floor tile runs through the entry and kitchen.
